What platforms can be utilized to support the achievement of the SDGs?
The Working Group on Platforms and Content in Support of the SDGs, Chaired by Professor Jeffrey Sachs, was tasked with providing an overview of best practices and policy, technology and infrastructure requirements to establish regional and national platforms and content that can promote the achievement of the SDGs within their 15-year time frame. In the second phase of this work, the Broadband Commission together with the UN, will work with governments, businesses, and UN agencies to implement these recommendations and support.
Objectives
- Recommend appropriate national and regional platforms to support the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) focusing on (at least) health, education, e-governance, financial inclusion, smart infrastructure, oceans and forests (serving SDGs 1,3,4,7, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15 and 16).
- Aggregate, review and develop ICT based content that can help in the achievement of the SDGs..
