Young Shub Kim was appointed as President and CEO of KT in August 2023. After taking the office, he declared KT to become the Digital Transformation Partner to build a better future for the customers.
He is an expert in finance and digital transformation industries with successful experiences, and also has been serving as a Board member of GSMA since 2023.
Before his career in KT, Mr. Kim worked at LG for more than 30 years. He served 8 years as CEO of LG CNS, leading digital transformation that resulted in rapid growth in various areas. He was also a Vice President of Business Management HQ (2006 to 2008) and High-Tech Business Division (2008 to 2013). He briefly assumed the position of VP of Solution Business Division in 2013, until he was appointed CFO of LG U+ the same year. He stayed in LG U+ until 2015, then served as CEO of LG CNS until 2023 as stated prior.
Mr. Kim earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Korea University and his Master’s degree in Confucian Scriptures / Korean Thought at Sungkyunkwan University.
