HE Mr. Roberto Sánchez holds a telecommunication engineer degree from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and has addressed various professional activities in both the public and private sectors. A career civil servant of the Higher Body of Systems and Information Technologies of the Spanish Administration, until his appointment in July 2018 as director of Telecommunications and IT at the Ministry of Economy and Business- a position he had already held in 2011- Mr. Sanchez was director of Innovation and City Promotion at Madrid City Council.
Previously he served as head of the Technical Cabinet at the General Secretariat of Science and Innovation; director of the Cabinet of the General Secretariat for Innovation, deputy director general of Competitiveness and Business Development of the General Directorate for Innovation (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness); he was deputy director general of Telecommunications Resources Management (radio spectrum and numbering) at the Directorate General of Telecommunications and technology advisor at the same Directorate.
In the private sector he worked as general director of A-CING, S.L., as director of Technology at ONO, as flight simulator integration engineer at CESELSA (currently INDRA) and as chief engineer at General Electric Electromedicine.
