Mr. Scott Gegenheimer is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Telecommunications Company KSCP (Zain), a leading multinational telecommunications operator present in eight markets across the Middle East and Africa with over 45 million customers and annual revenues of USD 3.7 billion as at December 2015. Since 2012, Scott has set the strategic direction and managed the on-going transformation of Zain from a mobile consumer-focused operator, into an integrated telecommunications operator with a focus on customer experience, innovation, enterprise and digital services to successfully leverage Zain's vast 3G/4G high-speed broadband networks.
Scott is a multidisciplinary, results-oriented leader with a 25-year successful track of which 15 years has been spent in the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe regions. He has extensive operational experience in the wireless telecommunications and technology industries. Prior to Zain, Scott was CEO of Wataniya Telecom, now Ooredoo Kuwait, a regional multi-country operator. While he was there, he transformed Wataniya's commercial strategy, technology focus and brand vision thus driving double-digit growth. Scott has also held executive positions at leading technology companies including Cisco Systems and Motorola in North America and Tunisiana, the leading Mobile operator in Tunisia.
Scott is a member of the board of directors of Zain's affiliate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Zain Saudi), and a member of the board of Zain's smart cities solutions provider, (neXgen Group). Scott is also a member of the Wold Economic Forum's Regional Business Council for MENA and a member of the board of directors of SAMENA Telecommunications Council.
Scott holds an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago (1993) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Northern Illinois University, USA, with a double major in Finance and Management (1989).
